No. AHCRA is an independent educational and compliance support platform. We are not a government body or regulatory authority. Our role is to help practitioners understand and meet their compliance obligations — we don't regulate or penalise anyone.
AHCRA supports 11 account types — 5 available now and 6 in sign-up-only mode. These include cosmetic clinics, dental practices, allied health clinics, GP practices, specialist surgeries, aged care facilities, multi-location groups, franchise networks, and buy-in networks. The platform covers all AHPRA-registered professions and supports 19 staff roles.
Not at all. AHCRA is designed for healthcare professionals, not IT experts. The interface is intuitive, and the platform handles the heavy lifting — from scanning your website to generating customised policy documents. If you can use email, you can use AHCRA.
AHCRA is currently designed for Australian healthcare regulations, including AHPRA, TGA, ACCC, and state-level legislation. We are focused on providing the most comprehensive Australian compliance solution before considering international expansion.
PLATFORM
Platform and features
AHCRA runs 51 compliance checks across 5 categories — AHPRA advertising guidelines, TGA regulations, ACCC consumer law, Privacy Act requirements, and general healthcare advertising standards. It scans your website, Google Business profile, online reviews, and news mentions. Each finding includes a severity level, the specific regulatory clause, and a plain-English fix suggestion. Learn more about the website audit.
The policy manual includes 1,000+ regulation-mapped templates across 12 compliance pillars — governance, HR, WHS, facilities, infection prevention, privacy, patient care, clinical, medications, consent, billing, and advertising. Each template can be customised for your practice type and exported with your branding.
AHCRA supports 19 staff roles including 13 AHPRA-registered professions and 6 non-registered roles. Each role has pre-configured compliance requirements auto-populated based on scope of practice. There are also 10 governance roles including Infection Control Lead, Privacy Officer, and WHS Representative.
AHCRA tracks 29 compliance requirements per staff member across 5 types: registrations (6), certifications (8), training modules (7), competencies (4), and administrative (4). The system sends automated expiry alerts at 90, 60, and 30 days before documents are due. Each requirement has a status: Current, Expiring Soon, Overdue, or Not Recorded. Staff can upload evidence and link documents to each requirement.
Yes. AHCRA uses bank-grade encryption for all data in transit and at rest. Our platform is hosted on Australian servers and complies with the Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles. We never share your data with third parties or use it for purposes beyond providing our service.

COMPLIANCE
Compliance and regulations
AHCRA covers AHPRA advertising guidelines, TGA Therapeutic Goods Act, ACCC Australian Consumer Law, the Privacy Act 1988, Work Health and Safety Act, and relevant state-level legislation. Our templates and checks are mapped to specific regulatory clauses so you know exactly which obligation each one satisfies.
Our regulatory content is continuously monitored and updated to reflect changes in AHPRA guidelines, TGA regulations, and other relevant legislation. When a regulation changes, affected templates and audit checks are updated automatically — and you receive a notification explaining what changed and what you need to review.
AHCRA supports compliance across all 12 pillars of healthcare practice management — governance, human resources, workplace health and safety, facilities, infection prevention, privacy, patient care, clinical practice, medications, consent, billing, and advertising. Each pillar maps to the relevant Australian standards and regulations.
Yes. AHCRA's policy templates, staff tracking, and compliance dashboards are designed to support accreditation preparation. While we don't replace the accreditation process itself, our platform ensures your documentation, training records, and compliance evidence are always current and audit-ready.
The 12 core policy categories are: Governance, Human Resources, Workplace Health & Safety (WHS), Facilities, Infection Prevention, Privacy, Patient Care, Clinical, Medications, Consent, Billing, and Advertising. Each category is colour-coded in the platform. There are also 5 conditional categories that appear based on your practice type and clinical services.
AHCRA tracks 29 compliance requirements per staff member, organised into 5 types: Registrations (6) — including AHPRA registration, professional indemnity insurance, and working with children checks. Certifications (8) — including CPR, first aid, anaphylaxis, and ALS. Training modules (7) — including infection control, hand hygiene, and cultural safety. Competencies (4) — including clinical assessment and medication administration. Administrative (4) — including police checks and immunisation records.
